OBJECTIVE - FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

“Council is supposed to represent all of the people of the Township in a financially responsible manner”

Make the best use of finances to get the services that the community needs and can afford.

Implement long term planning to ensure services (fire, roads) do not have nasty financial surprises.

FOCUS AREAS

Economic Development

Economic development is important to the sustainability of the township.  Council must be proactive in attracting new businesses, encouraging current residents in their business ventures and particularly aggressive in pursuing Provincial and Federal funding targeted at rural economic development.

Environmental Balance

Our natural environment, the lakes and forests are a key source of enjoyment for residents and an important attraction for tourism and prospective new residents.  Council needs to keep this in mind and ensure that the health of our environmental spaces is taken seriously.

Community Growth

The social health of the community as well as the long term viability of the public school and local businesses depend on growth.  Creating a welcoming social context along with having the desired infrastructure and services in place and a municipal government that is supportive is necessary for community growth.  There is no shortage of people 'heading for the country'.
